Weller's Community Newsletter

August 17, 2026

Thank you for a great start to the school year!

Good morning Weller families!

It was wonderful welcoming everyone back to school this past week. We are thrilled with how our community came together to ensure that we had a successful first two days. Thank you all for putting our Core Values into action.
  • KINDNESS: Families donated snacks for our staff, students helped one another at recess, and our staff welcomed students with open arms.
  • CONNECTION: Students engaged in get-to-know-you activities to build community in our classrooms.
  • CRITICAL THINKING: Our families supported our drop-off and pick-up procedures each day to ensure that things were running smoothly and safely.
  • COURAGE: Our newest and youngest students were so brave starting at a new school!

I look forward to our full week ahead of learning, creativity, and continued community building! Thank you all for your support and we look forward to seeing you this Thursday at our Back-to-School Night (more information included below).

Sincerely,
Mrs. Elzey and Mrs. Sharma

Weller's Core Values

We are focusing on GENEROSITY this month as part of our Core Values Program! Students will be reading our book of the month, The Boy Who Grew A Forest, to learn about our incredible and generous leader, Jadav Payeng. Students will engage in discussions and activities throughout the month to learn more about our spotlight leader and our core value: Generosity. As students participate in our lessons they are also creating special Core Values Books that they will be able to take home at the end of the year! We encourage all families to participate with our Core Values Program! Please see below to learn more. 😁 Please click HERE to watch and listen to a read aloud of this month's story.

Join PTA

Joining the PTA is a way to show your support for the teachers, staff, and students. Support can come in many forms, and joining the PTA doesn’t have to be a huge time commitment. 😊

The PTA has 3 types of members:
  • PTA Board Officers - Meet monthly and operate the business of the PTA
  • PTA Volunteers - Volunteer their time when they are able and want to, no commitment
  • PTA Members - No commitments, the membership fee helps, and the show of numbers shows our support (this is all you’re signing up for by joining)
The PTA has helped the school and everyone using the membership fees and other fundraisers such as Yogurtland, Apex Fun Run, Sees Candy sales, Bingo, and many others. Some examples are:
  • Trunk-or-Treat event
  • Spring Carnival
  • Multi-cultural celebration
  • Movie Night
  • Lunch tables for the students
  • 6th grade promotion ceremony
  • Teacher Appreciation gifts, lunches and teas
  • Weller's digital marquee
  • Upgraded Multi-Use Room sound system
  • Afterschool popsicles for students
There are no commitments by joining, you are just showing your support by being a member and donating your membership fee. Anything more you are able and willing to do or give is your choice. Membership fee is $20 per family, which includes all of your students and their parents/guardians. The PTA is a 501(c)(3) organization so the membership fee and additional donations are tax deductible as allowed by the IRS. Please fill out this membership form and send it into the school to your student’s teacher or drop it by the office with the $20 membership fee. You can also join through our Totem page if you prefer. We also always accept membership registrations at our events, just find our table or one of the PTA officers.

We are always looking for volunteers to help us run our events. After you’ve joined the PTA, fill out this form and let us know what you’re interested in volunteering for and we’ll be in touch!
