How to Enroll
Do you or someone you know have a student that is or will be 4 years old before September 2, 2026? If so, then it is time to enroll them in school for next school year. We are pleased that the state of California has continued to expand the age eligibility of the Transitional Kindergarten program for next year to include more students. Enrollment for students starting school in Milpitas during the 2026-2027 school year is ongoing. Students are placed in classes at Weller based on space availability when the enrollment process is completed, so do not delay!
Age Requirements for the 2026 - 2027 School Year
- TK: 4 years old between 9/2/25 - 9/1/26
- Kindergarten: 5 years old by 9/1/2026
- 1st Grade: 6 years old by 9/1/2026
- Grades 2-6 - Placed according to current placement in an accredited US school or by birthdate if not currently enrolled in a US school.
The steps for enrollment are:
- Go To: MUSD How to Enroll webpage
- Gather all required documents
- Bring the required documents to the school office (M-F / 9 AM - 2 PM)
Current students are not required to re-enroll for next year. If your student has moved or will not be attending Weller next school year please let the office know so we can plan accordingly.
Families should complete online enrollment, and then wait to be contacted regarding completing the enrollment process. Weller will be notified when you've completed online enrollment and you will be contacted in the order enrollment was completed.
