Progress Reports will be available on October 3rd
Students' academic progress is reported to families in a variety of ways, including conferences, returned work, Google classroom, progress reports, and report cards. Progress reports are completed for students who teachers have concerns about - academically, behaviorally, or social-emotionally. Progress reports can also be sent home for students who have made huge gains in their academics or behavior. This means that not all students will receive a progress report at this time. If your child does not receive a progress report, it means that your child is making adequate progress towards meeting grade level standards at this time. If you would like to learn about the grade level standards you can find them here (on the district's website). The “I Can Statements”, aligned to the common core state standards, are written in student-friendly language that help to communicate what students are expected to learn and what students need to do to demonstrate mastery of the grade-level standards. If you receive a progress report for your child, please review it as there will likely be great suggestions for how to support your child's continued progress!
Progress reports will be sent home to some students on Friday, October 3rd. Progress Reports are also available on our Aeries Parent Portal.

LOAVES & FISHES FOOD DISTRIBUTION
Providing food on MONDAYS from 3:30- 4:30pm every week!
Loaves & Fishes is an organization that Weller has been partnering with for two years to provide meals to our community. We understand that this time is not the most convenient, but this is the best that Loaves & Fishes can do with the current demands around the Bay Area. A refrigerated truck will be stationed in front of the school by the office every week.

September 29th- October 3rd
Goal-Setting Conferences are here! Please read below to help you prepare for a successful goal-setting conference with your child’s teacher!
What is a Goal-Setting Conference?
A Goal-Setting Conference takes place early in the school year. It is an opportunity for teachers, families, and students to meet and begin to build the relationships that are critical to successful home-school partnerships. At this conference, you will discuss:
Your child’s strengths, both academic and social/emotional/behavioral
Your child’s areas for growth, both academic and social/emotional/behavioral
Goals for your child for the year
Strategies to help your child reach those goals at both school and home
How can I prepare for a Goal-Setting Conference?
Sign up for and attend your child’s conference! Your child’s teacher will send home information about how to select a conference time!
-
You know your child! Think about your child’s strengths and areas for growth. Here are some questions to ask yourself before the conference:
What is my child good at? What are they interested in?
What are my goals for my child this year? Do I want them to become a better reader? Do I want them to become more confident in their math abilities? Do I want them to persevere when tasks are challenging?
What do I hope my child will accomplish this year (behavior or academic)?
What does my child hope to accomplish this year (behavior and academic)?
What type of learning environment do I hope my child is a part of?
How do I think my child learns best?
Expect to engage in a conversation with the teacher. Goal-Setting conferences are not about the teacher just giving you information about your child. They are an opportunity for you and the teacher to get to know each other better and to make agreements about how you will both support your child to grow this year.
Bring your child! This is a conference about them - we want them to know that we are a team, here to support them!
When are Goal-Setting Conferences happening?
Goal-Setting conferences will be held the week of September 29th- October 3rd. You should have already received a scheduled conference time from your child’s teacher.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions. We’re looking forward to working together to make this year a successful one for you and your child!
