Our week ended on such a positive note with our first Core Values Assembly of the year. The students were courageous and extremely creative with their presentations to highlight what they learned during our month of Generosity. Great job students and thank you teachers for your hard work! 😁

Please be careful in our parking lots!  This week, a staff member's car was hit and damaged in our parking lot. We are not aware of any witnesses and a note was not left. We must take our time and act with care and responsibility in our parking lots.

    
Every year, our school district conducts two community surveys. Our first survey is now available and we would love to have Weller voices represented. Thank you for taking the time to complete this survey: MUSD Family Engagement Survey. The survey results will be shared anonymously with school sites, the School Board, and the community to help shape our district's Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP). Thank you for your time and feedback!

Campus Monitors and Volunteers Needed We are currently short staffed and are in need of applicants and volunteers to help us support our students' recess and lunch times. If you are interested in a campus monitor position at Weller, please apply HERE through EdJoin. We would love to have you join our team! If you are cleared to volunteer and are available to help us during the week, but cannot take on a permanent position, please let us know! GIVEAWAY TABLES September 5th 8:00am- 2:00pm We will have tables full of give aways in the front of the school by the office. Please stop by to gather books, school materials, and much more!

        

Helpful Reminders:  Practice tyhing shoelaces. Practice opening and closing lunch item containers. Keep healthy bedtime and morning routines to make sure you are getting enough rest. Bring a water bottle to school (no glass please) and label all belongings. Students exit and enter cars on the right side. Families, PLEASE remain in your vehicles.  Plan ahead to make sure you can arrive to school on time calmly and peacefully.

     

Thank you to our Weller parents who have shown an interest in leading through our School Site Council. The time has now come for us to vote. Please use this ballot to vote for our new School Site Council Officer by Friday, September 12th.  Voting should only take a minute. Parents who are elected to our council will have voting rights to help make decisions for our school. Thank you greatly!

LOAVES & FISHES FOOD DISTRIBUTION Providing food on MONDAYS from 3:30- 4:30pm every week! Loaves & Fishes is an organization that Weller has been partnering with for two years to provide meals to our community. We understand that this time is not the most convenient, but this is the best that Loaves & Fishes can do with the current demands around the Bay Area.  A refrigerated truck will be stationed in front of the school by the office every week.

Every day matters! Missing just 2 days a month add up to nearly a full month of lost learning and flags your student as chronically absent for the school year. Arriving on time each morning helps students feel confident, connected, and ready to learn. Thank you for making daily, on-time attendance a priority!

• Campus opens at 7:30am for breakfast.
• School begins at 8:00am. Students arriving after 8:00am are tardy.

WELLER'S PTA

Joining the PTA is a way to show your support for the teachers, staff, and students.  Support can come in many forms, and joining the PTA doesn’t have to be a huge time commitment.  😊

Membership fee is $20 per family, which includes all of your students and their parents/guardians.  The PTA is a 501(c)(3) organization so the membership fee and additional donations are tax deductible as allowed by the IRS. Please fill out this membership form and send it into the school to your student’s teacher or drop it by the office with the $20 membership fee.  You can also join through our Totem page if you prefer.  We also always accept membership registrations at our events, just find our table or one of the PTA officers.

We are always looking for volunteers to help us run our events.  After you’ve joined the PTA, fill out this form and let us know what you’re interested in volunteering for and we’ll be in touch.

WELLER'S CORE VALUES We are focusing on AUTHENTICITY this month as part of our Core Values Program! Students will be reading our book of the month, Maria Tallchief: Woman of Two Worlds, to learn about our inspirational and talented leader, Maria Tallchief. Students will engage in discussions and activities throughout the month to learn more about our spotlight leader and our core value: Authenticity. As students participate in our lessons they are also creating special Core Values Books that they will be able to take home at the end of the year!  We encourage all families to participate with our Core Values Program!
