Each year the intermediate students vote for Student Council Officers. Elections are held at the end of the previous school year to elect future 4th, 5th, and 6th graders. The officers are ready to begin their term on the first day of school.
Our officers for this school year are:
- Vice President of Service:
- Vice President of Spirit:
Every year, candidates running for office are Classroom Representatives. Once school begins, Classroom Representatives are distributed among the 4th-6th grade classes.
These students who run for these offices work hard by writing an essay, making a poster, and presenting a speech in front of the intermediate students. Only one student is elected for each office to represent our school. However, after the elections each class elects two or three representatives to attend meetings once or twice a month. The members make decisions about school beautification and continued improvement, propose special spirit days to be held throughout the year, assist with extra duties like sorting cans for Jack Emery Food Drive, and various fundraising projects such as Valentine Grams and Mother's Day Cards. They also meet with the Principal, talk about issues in the school, and propose solutions to these problems.
This year Mr. Salazar is the teacher in charge of Weller's Student Leadership Team/Leader in Me Kids
