A Message from the Principal

Dear Weller Students and Families,

The Weller Staff and I would like to officially welcome you all back to  the 2022-2023  school year! We are committed to doing all we can to make this school year a safe, happy, successful experience for every student. We firmly believe that a home/school partnership is necessary for the success of all of our students.

Those of you who are returning know that Weller is a special place with a staff that cares deeply about all of its students. Those of you who are new to our Mustang Family will soon find out that all Weller staff members challenge, inspire, and support students to engage in authentic, challenging curriculum and to reach their fullest potential. I look forward to continuing to work with you as a partner in your child’s education!

It has always been my goal to partner with families. You are your child’s  first and longest-lasting teacher.  Your child’s academic, social, and emotional success will depend on a successful home-school partnership. We encourage you to stay in contact with your child’s teacher about their progress in class and to support your child with completion of assignments.

This year, Weller will continue to implement SEAL (Sobrato Early Academic Language) in grades TK-3, project-based learning in grades 4-6, Summit Learning in grades 5-6, and our new character value driven program- Leader of the Month school-wide. We are excited to continue to implement these powerful programs!

In order to take advantage of those programs, students need to attend school every day! Good attendance habits (which develop in kindergarten!) are the foundation of a strong education. If you miss school, you miss out on learning!

Please review our handbook carefully (located on the home page), as it contains all our important information about Weller.

I am looking forward to an incredible school year working with you all!

If you have any questions, my door is always open. Please reach out via email or phone call if there is anything I can help with.

Sincerely,

Deanna Elzey
